In France, the Directorate for Civil Aviation (DCA), namely the French government, is responsible for air traffic noise.
Paris Aéroport measures aircraft noise on and around the Paris airports using analysers which operate on a continual basis. By coupling these values with the aircraft trajectories, each plane which has taken off or landed at Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle can be given a noise level.
Paris Aéroport's responsibility as an airport operator includes managing the neighbourhood soundproofing aid scheme at its airports in the Ile-de-France region. A specific unit within the company implements and coordinates this scheme. The Paris Aéroport's laboratory provides the authorities with the noise measurements and analyses they need for their decision-making.
