Creation of a new terminal for Bahrain International Airport, Kingdom of Bahrain
Since 2014, Groupe ADP's subsidiary ADP Ingénierie has been designing and supervising the construction works for the new terminal of Bahrain International Airport, expected to be delivered in 2020.
This €1 billion-plus project is regarded as the most important project underway on this archipelago in the Persian Gulf.
Covering an area of 220,000 sq.m, the new building will ultimately accommodate 14 million passengers versus 9 million currently. Built with the latest environmental technologies, it will offer a vast shopping area, private lounges and cultural spaces. Airside and landside, a large number of amenities are planned, including a multi-level parking lot, an access building in a reserved area, an access viaduct and landscaped areas. The construction work is being carried out by the TAV Construction-Arabtec joint venture.
Additionally, ADP Ingénierie was selected in March 2017 for the design and supervision of the new Regional Air Traffic Center. Its mission is to increase the effectiveness of air traffic control in the region in strict accordance with international standards and to optimize its capacity to cope with the rapid growth of air traffic in the region.
