PPablo Picasso never actually traveled to Africa,Africa came to him, on a visit to the Musée du Trocadéro in 1907. A “shock,” according to Laurence Madeline, curator of the 2006 exhibition Picasso and Africa, in Johannesburg. From that moment, the artist plunged headfirst into so-called “Negro” or “primitive” art.
