One operation, two phases, three projects
The overhaul of the international Departures process at Paris-Orly is based on three complementary elements: the construction of a baggage sorting system, the creation of a new boarding lounge and the reconfiguration of the security-check and border control areas.
The operation was divided into two phases in order to keep the international hall operational whilst the new building was under construction. Thus, the security and border controls and the newly developed retail area will be delivered during the second phase.
Phase 1: a more efficient terminal and smoother passenger journey
Creation of a new baggage sorting system that will increase sorting capacity to 2,500 bags/hour and a 1,700 sq.m. check-in area with 26 new kiosks for an improved passenger experience.
A
2,700 sq.m. boarding lounge, bathed in natural light, with seating and a full range of services that meet new international standards. Its 4 boarding gates will serve 3 medium and 1 wide-body aircraft.
A
1,000 sq.m. disembarkation route to accommodate even more passengers with dedicated arrivals and transfer flows.
Phase 2: reconfiguration of checkpoints
The reorganisation of the security and border controls will considerably expedite passenger and cabin baggage checks, thanks to the creation and combining of new security checkpoints in the Schengen and international halls and the installation of 11 automated Parafe gates.
